Getting Into Photography

A new desire

A new beginning for myself and hopefully the audience reading this article. What lead to a burning desire to create topic on photography is how amazing one can make a image look astonishingly gorgeous.

Example of how individuals can make a basic image, a piece of hard, dedicated work.

This may seem basic at first glance, but I assure you its much more complex than what society portrays this profession. For those looking for the tools and simplified version on the road to becoming a professional photographer, I will discuss the basic fundamentals.

The Three Elements

ISO

In very basic terms, ISO is simply a camera setting that will brighten or darken a photo. As you increase your ISO number, your photos will grow progressively brighter. For that reason, ISO can help you capture images in darker environments, or be more flexible about your aperture and shutter speed settings.

However, raising your ISO has consequences. A photo taken at too high of an ISO will show a lot of grain, also known as noise, and might not be usable. So, brightening a photo via ISO is always a trade-off. You should only raise your ISO when you are unable to brighten the photo via shutter speed or aperture instead

Aperture

The aperture stop of a photographic lens can be adjusted to control the amount of light reaching the film or image sensor. In combination with variation of shutter speed, the aperture size will regulate the film’s or image sensor’s degree of exposure to light.

ShutterSpeed

In photography, shutter speed or exposure time is the length of time when the film or digital sensor inside the camera is exposed to light, also when a camera’s shutter is open when taking a photograph. The amount of light that reaches the film or image sensor is proportional to the exposure time.

Learning to combine the elements.

No matter what combination you’re using, keep in mind the objective of combining elements is to create strong photography. Some photographers start out having an eye for what makes a good image.

This is first glance in an attempt to show the basics of this profession so I will not go into great depths to explain the right way to combine these elements as it is how you perceive the image you seek in your own mind. This article is purely based on the definition of the basic ideas of photography.
